In case someone on this site hasn't seen us for a while, here's a little of our history and what we're up to now. . . Kyle and Caitlan started dating April 5, 2003, right before Kyle's family gave Caitlan a ride down to Florida for Spring Break and right after one of Kyle and Caitlan's teachers got married. Kyle's family just happened to be vacationing in the same city as Caitlan and her friends. In fact, it turned out they were just down the beach and could walk to each other's condos. In the car on the way to Kyle's house after the wedding, Kyle asked Caitlan out, and she eloquently said "K" and immediately put her head in her pillow on her lap. It was dark, so he couldn't see her blush anyway. Once Caitlan was dropped off, she immediatly went inside and told her friends, and when she told them how she responded she wasn't sure if he knew she meant yes. So she called him to verify, and he laughed at her. Kyle apparently did not tell his family because when they were getting ready to leave, his mom told him she was glad he and Caitlan were not dating. A little worried, he asked why, and she said because then he would be all mopey the whole way home since his girlfriend wasn't riding home with them. She found out later that they were dating. Their first big date together was prom of senior year, at which they wore red and black. They weren't taking their relationship too seriously because they were going to different colleges and didn't think they would try the long-distance thing (not knowing that later they would endure different countries rather than different cities within the same state). Their first break-up was before Caitlan moved to Georgetown and Kyle moved to Louisville, August 21, the day before Caitlan's birthday. They got back together November 2, 2003. Since then, they have broken up a few more times (they don't keep track of the dates anymore) when one of them was leaving the country for an extended period of time, but they couldn't quit talking to each other, and each time one came home, they started dating again. The final, and longest, break-up occurred before Caitlan headed off to England for two years to get her degree from Oxford. But then, a sort of creepy guy, who Caitlan used to know, started facebook stalking Caitlan, so Caitlan suggested they get back together ("Facebook official") to get him to stop. Kyle, being a gentleman, obliged. And they've been together ever since. Kyle graduated from the University of Louisville in May 2007, majoring in Political Science and minoring in Russian Studies. While a student he also picked up a certificate in Russian Proficiency from Perm State University. After graduation he worked for UofL's College of Business as the Assistant Director of Development, mainly working on fundraising for the school. He has since left that position to start his own software development company. Caitlan graduated from Georgetown College in May 2006, majoring in Liberal Studies. She then went on to study at the University of Oxford at Regent's Park College, majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. She finished the program in June 2008 and graduated from Oxford in November 2008. That graduation trip in November was when Kyle proposed, and Kyle and Caitlan got engaged. Caitlan works as an Energy Analyst at E.ON US, the company that owns LG&E and KU. She works in the Sales Analysis and Forecasting department, mainly looking at a lot of data and numbers. Now, they are excited to be planning their wedding and the rest of their lives together, with no more break-ups and no more long-distance.
