Louisville
Slugger Museum And Factory
This place is a shrine to the best known bat company in the world.
Walk through the factory while bats are being custom made for
players in the pros. The museum has game used bats from Babe
Ruth to A-Rod, many you can hold yourself. After the tour you
get your very own souvenier sized bat, but if you're flying make sure
you check it or the TSA will take it before you board. |

Louisville
Science Center
Our awesome Science museum is great for kids and adults. It
has all the typical children's museum stuff like putting yourself in a
bubble, but it also has some cool original exhibits. They
have one exhibit which houses a human fetus in every stage of
development, with explanations of the biological processes occuring.
There's also a heart rate monitor which showed that Caitlan's heart
sped up 5 BPM when Kyle was in the same room as her. |
Muhammad
Ali Center
Muhammad Ali is the most recognized
sportsman in human history. He is a driven fighter and,
conversely, a driven peace advocate. This center was founded
not only to share his story and house many of his posessions but to
promote peace and diversity in the Louisville area and beyond.
The Center hosts the Muhammad Ali Institute for Peace and
Justice in partnership with the University of Louisville which advances
the work, study and practice of peacemaking, social justice and
violence prevention. It's also a pretty rocking museum.

Kentucky
Bourbon Trail
One third of all bourbon whiskeey comes from Louisville, the rest is
within driving distance. If the weather isn't nasty and you
have some time on your drive in, stop by one or two of the distilleries
that border Jefferson County. There's something magical that happens
when the Kentucky limestone water mixes with the sour mash, it creates
flavors unlike anywhere else in the world. |
